Step 1: Place Your Order
Choose the steaks or meat packages you want and complete your purchase online.
Step 2: Order Confirmation
After placing your order, you will receive a confirmation email at the address you provided. Once the order is completed and shipped, you will receive a tracking number so you can follow your shipment.
Step 3: Shipping and Delivery
Orders are processed and shipped Monday through Wednesday to help ensure your meat arrives quickly and remains frozen during transit.
Shipping is available in all 50 states, and orders must be delivered to a physical street address (no P.O. boxes).
Because of weather conditions and holidays, delivery times may occasionally vary.
How Your Meat Stays Frozen During Shipping
Many first-time customers ask how meat stays frozen during shipping. We use special insulated packaging and dry ice to maintain safe temperatures during delivery.
Your order will arrive in a Heartland Steak Co. box packed to keep the meat frozen and protected during shipping.
When your box arrives:
- Handle the dry ice carefully. Follow the instructions included in the package.
- Open the box as soon as possible.
- Transfer the meat immediately to your freezer or refrigerator.
Because the package contains perishable food, we recommend that someone is home when the delivery arrives.
How Long Will Frozen Meat Last?
Proper storage helps maintain the quality and safety of your meat.
When kept frozen:
- Meat stays good for up to six months in the freezer.
After thawing:
- Meat should be cooked and eaten within three days.
For best results, keep your:
- Freezer at 0°F
- Refrigerator at or below 40°F
Safe Handling & Food Safety Tips
Raw meat should always be handled using proper food safety practices. Follow these simple guidelines to protect your household and get the best flavor from your meat.
Safe handling basics:
- Keep meat refrigerated or frozen until ready to use.
- The best way to thaw meat is in the refrigerator or microwave, not on the counter.
- Keep raw meat separate from other foods.
- Wash your hands, cutting boards, and utensils after handling raw meat.
- Cook meat thoroughly.
Recommended cooking temperatures:
- Beef and pork cuts: 145°F internal temperature
- Chicken: 165°F internal temperature
After cooking, allow the meat to rest for 3–5 minutes before serving. Resting allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, improving flavor and tenderness.
